Inspiration – ‘Midnight Blues’

With the cold winter nights, and the recent television programmes dedicated to stargazing, I thought it would be fitting to put together a bracelet to reflect these themes. Although I tend to have a personal preference over pastel shade beads, over time I have collected what I think are some of the prettiest and most interesting deep blue beads.

(Clockwise: Wave of Dreams, Autumn Splendour, Silver Mountain, Unique Galaxy [S&B], Harmony, Blue Sparkle [LE Elegant Christmas 2013], Gold Silver Trace, Angel Feathers, Moon Ocean, Zanzibar, Skyline [LE Hong Kong World Tour], Goat [LE Zodiac bead], Elegance in Blue [LE Elegant Christmas 2013].

The most recent addition was the Trollbeads ‘Skyline’ bead from the Hong Kong series of World Tour beads. I didn’t manage to get this in the UK, but just as my hopes of finding one were running out, I managed to find one from TrollbeadsAkron in the US. I must say a big thank you to Heather for the super friendly and helpful service and for the swift delivery of this stunning bead! The photograph below really does not do the bead justice, in sunlight the gold really shimmers and sparkles, it is totally exquisite.

Also included on the bracelet are two beads from the Elegant Christmas set 2013. Elegance in Blue and Elegant Sparkle have to be my two favourite beads from this release.

You can see the differences between the Elegant Sparkle and the Unique Small & Beautiful Galaxy bead in the photo below. Both have a galactic look to them, but the molten silver inclusions in the Elegant Sparkle bead are much bigger, more like the Unique Meteor style beads. The Galaxy bead has more of a ‘Milky Way’ appearance. Both are beautiful beads though.

The final bead that I would like to draw attention to on this bracelet is ‘Moon Ocean’. This was a bead that I initially overlooked until I saw images of it used on a bracelet and how it reflected the light. I think it sets this bracelet off beautifully!

Are any of these beads among your favourites?
