Trollbeads Small & Beautiful ‘Navy Meteor’

Today brings a review of a navy ‘Meteor’ that I have added to my collection, from the recent  batches of Trollbeads Uniques that have been released.

Although not an official name, this style of Unique bead have been named as ‘meteors’ by Trollbeads collectors. These beads form part of the ‘Small & Beautiful’ range of unique Trollbeads. These beads are smaller than most general production Trollbeads, hence their collective name.

The beads first started to be released in early 2013, and became increasingly harder to source towards the end of the year, particularly the more sought after designs such as the meteors, galaxies, cherry blossoms and peacocks.

Fortunately, 2014 has seen these beads making a reappearance in the latest batches of Unique Trollbeads that are being distributed.

The version that I am about to show is navy, though there is also a cream version.

This is a beautiful example of this bead, you can nicely see the larger molten silver inclusions.

The picture below shows the deep blue / black base colour, that perfectly resembles outer space.

The bead design reminds me of either a distant galaxy, or the view of a planets surface from outer space. Either way, it definitely has a ‘cosmic’ feel to it.

The next two pictures show the bead alongside a Trollbeads Small & Beautiful ‘Galaxy’ (left) and Trollbeads ‘Elegant Sparkle’ (right).

‘Elegant Sparkle’ was part of the Christmas 2013 limited edition ‘Elegant Christmas’ kit. This bead was extremely popular due to its resemblance to the ‘Meteor’ bead, which was extremely hard to come by at that time. Similarly, its red counterpart ‘Love Sparkle’ from the red ‘Christmas Love’ kit  also proved popular for the same reason.  My version of Elegant Sparkle is a nice small one , not that much bigger than the Small & Beautifuls, so it works well alongside them.

At the time these beads were first released last year, I didn’t follow the Uniques releases that closely, so sadly missed out on getting a cream version. Hopefully I will be able to come across one from the latest batches!
