Finally, the release date for Trollbeads Easter Collection for 2015 has arrived! From the moment I first saw the preview images for this collection, I could not wait to get my hands on these pieces.
With a twist, this years collection strays away from cute bunnies and turns to mythical dragons!
The release comprises of two silver beads – ‘Dragon Egg’ and ‘Easter Dragon’, the ‘Dragon Lock’ and the ‘Daffodil Tassel’ which is a beautiful faceted dangle style charm.
Without further a do, here are some lovely live images along with my first impressions for you!
The ‘Daffodil Tassel’ is simply stunning, the faceted cut of this dangle enhances the delicate green ribbon effect (which presumably represents the long slender green leaves) and the dainty yellow flower. Admittedly, the flower does not look much like a daffodil to me apart from the distinctive yellow colour, but this does not really matter nor detract from the beauty of this piece. Vibrant yellows and greens are not necessarily my favourite colour schemes, but I think this piece is beautiful enough to be worn on its own, either on a bracelet or necklace.
The ‘Dragon Lock’ is fabulous and will get a lot of use on any fantasy / mythical themed bracelets I create. One thing that I think would have looked fabulous on this lock though would have been the inclusion of a couple of red or black cubic zirconias where the eyes are!
The ‘Dragon Egg’ is actually my favourite piece of this collection, I absolutely love it! I would have been happy with this bead even if it had just been designed with the scales all the way around, but the design of a little tail and foot popping out as the egg is hatching is a wonderful attention to detail. It is a decent sized piece as you will see from my next upcoming post which offers some draconic inspiration!
The ‘Easter Dragon’ is a lovely little chap, though he definitely edges more to the side of a cute dragon than a demonic one! I love the view of this bead from the back with his lovely little wings!
I would love to hear what any of my readers think to this release. I know many collectors have been longing for more beads along the mythical theme, and I am one of them. I appreciate however that these silvers may not be to everyone’s taste, though if not, the Daffodil Tassel is more than likely to appeal!
