Trollbeads Copper Collection Preview

Today brings news of an exciting new collection for Trollbeads, with the introduction of a new metal to the range.

Trollbeads Copper Collection features a new bangle, bead and stoppers, all in copper. It has a global release date of 30th April, so only a month to wait!

Copper brings the opportunity to achieve a similar warm tone as rose gold, but without the prohibitive price tag. Bronze links have proved very popular in the X Jewellery line, and I wonder if this had some impact on the decision to bring a new metal into Trollbeads standard line.

The Copper Bangle will retail at €60, the Copper Stoppers at €9 and the Copper Bead at €28. (I will update with prices in GBP and USD once I have them).

I cannot wait for this collection to come out. I think the copper stoppers will be a very eye catching contrast when worn on the silver bangle as well.

There is actually already one piece in the current collection that includes a small spot of copper, the bead ‘Symbols’. This bead will complement the new collection beautifully!

People may be curious as to how the copper will wear over time and have concerns over the characteristic green patina caused by oxidization.  Basically, when copper reacts with oxygen in the air, your sweat and skin oils, it oxidizes, which sometimes creates a green layer of copper carbonate, either on your jewellery or your skin. The cleaner you keep copper jewellery the less likely there will be any discoloration  from oxidation. Keeping the pieces dry and giving them a regular polish should be sufficient to avoid this and maintain the lovely warm hue of the metal. So definitely don’t let concerns over this put you off from buying it!
