Trollbeads City Beads Collection Preview

This post introduces readers to Trollbeads upcoming ‘City Beads Collection‘. The collection features nine city themed silver beads and three new leather bracelets. The cities represented by the collection are Amsterdam, London, New York, Rome, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Tokyo, Seoul and Cape Town.

This collection has a global release date of 22nd May 2015. From what I understand though, these beads will only be available globally for a month, after which they will only be to buy from their own cities, until all stock is exhausted. This Limited Edition status will make them very desirable to some collectors, so if you are keen to acquire a specific bead (or even the full set!) I would advise contacting your preferred retailer sooner rather than later.

From the stock images, my favourites are the Shanghai Dragon, Hong Kong Voyager and Rome Collosseum. If I had to choose just once I think I would choose the Shanghai Dragon as it offers more versatililty, the Rome Colloseum is quite theme specific and the Hong Kong Voyager is similar to the New Horizons bead from this years Spring release.

The leather bracelets are a new single strand style, and do not require a lock. Instead they appear to be knotted. Whilst I like the look of these, I wonder how easy they will be to get on and off.

Trollbeads World Tour Collection from 2012 proved incredibly popular, and rumours appeared last year of the possibility of another World Tour collection. Whilst we have seen the release of a number of Country Specific Beads (including Ageless Beauty, Wings of Freedom and Party Time), this is the first full collection. It will be interesting to see if more cities are added to the collection at a later date!

  1. Thanks for showing the leather bracelet. I had one of the older, two strand twice round ones which I didn’t get on with – I’ve now trimmed off one strand, shortened the remaining one, joined two holes to make one bigger hole … And love it!!!! Easy to unknot, doesn’t unknot itself, and a bit of stretch so I can roll it off if I want

    1. Hi Benta, the double strand leather bracelets look great, but I agree they can be fiddly. I like the new one strand style but would have to try to see how I got on with the knot to tie it. I am still waiting for a pink leather bracelet!
