Trollbeads Limited Edition Ocean Jasper Review

Following on from my review of Trollbeads Limited Edition Pastel Agates, this post brings a review of the Limited Edition Ocean Jasper that were released at the same time.

Firstly, a big thank you must go to Perlen, who so very kindly sent me these Ocean Jasper as a complimentary gift! I am absolutely delighted with them and have teamed them with my set of Trollbeads Summer Stones from last year, as you will see in the photos in the rest of this post.

At first glance, these stones may look quite plain, particularly in comparison to the bright colours of the Pastel Agates. However, close up, the Ocean Jasper is equally as stunning in its own right. It is a grey coloured stone which has deep red veins running through it and a beautiful cream-yellow bubble texture appearance that make it stand out among other neutral stones. The patterning reminds of the effect you get if you blow paint through a straw onto some paper.

Whilst so far I have just teamed the Ocean Jasper with other natural stones, I am sure it will fit in nicely with glass beads as well. It certainly works well alongside silver and I can imagine a bracelet of just Ocean Jasper alternated with the silver Birth Month Flowers would look amazing!

Here are some photos of the Ocean Jasper alongside Trollbeads Summer Stones and silver Birth Month Flowers.

As with the Pastel Agates, these Limited Edition Ocean Jasper were limited to a select number of retailers including two in Denmark, three in the US and one in the UK. When I looked on Perlen today, there were still some Ocean Jasper available .

If you are undecided on this bead, I would definitely go for it, as I am sure you would not be disappointed. I would however recommend getting them as soon as  possible whilst there are still some available, particularly in light of how fast the Pastel Agates were sold out.

Once again, a very big Thank You to Perlen, your gift really made my day!

Trollbeads Limited Edition Pastel Agates Review

Today brings a review of Trollbeads Limited Edition Pastel Agates. There is very little information available surrounding this mini release (which also included Ocean Jasper), with no official advertising of it from Trollbeads.

As far as I am aware, there are just two retailers in Denmark (Perlen and Diamonds4ever) and one retailer in the UK (Trollbeads Heaven) who will be receiving some of these beads. Three retailers in the US (including Trollbeads NYC and Trollbeads at South Park) are said to be receiving some of the Ocean Jasper, but I am unsure as to whether they will also receive the Pastel Agates.

Thanks to Perlen (Denmark), I was lucky enough to secure a beautiful pink, blue and green version of the Pastel Agates. They had individually photographed the beads which beautifully showed the detail, so I was lucky enough to get in early and choose the ones that I wanted. Later that day, I had another look on there site and there was only a couple remaining, which is a testimony as to how fast these beads have sold out.

These are dyed stones, however this does not detract from their beauty. As you will see from the individual photographs below, the subtle semi-opaque pattern within the stone gives them a soft appearance, even though the base colour of the stones are  quite strong, and not what I would class as ‘pastel’.

Worn together, they give a beautiful rainbow effect. I have put them with the Faceted Aurora beads from last year’s ‘Stories of You’ release, which embrace the ‘rainbow’ theme and give a somewhat magical look.

I wish I had also invested in one of the yellow and purple versions now as I like these so much!

This is a release that I am so pleased I managed to add to my collection. I will review the Ocean Jasper separately in my next post!

Trollbeads Limited Edition Ocean Jasper and Pastel Agates

Over the past few days, rumours have been circulating of Limited Edition stones, thought only to have been made available to some Danish retailers.  Diamonds4Ever and Perlen are two Danish retailers receiving stock. Following an announcement on their Facebook page yesterday, it appears that Trollbeads Heaven in the UK have also been offered some stock.

These new Limited Edition stones are said to be Ocean Jasper and Pastel Agate.

From the images I have seen so far, Ocean Jasper is a neutral coloured bead with a marbled pattern that looks like bubbles blown through a straw. Ocean Jasper also made an appearance in the 2011 Limited Edition Gemstone set, though images for those beads showed less marbling.

The pastel Agates look to be available in pink, blue, green and brown. The depth of colour looks to vary quite immensely, as does the opaque patterning in the stone, which reminds me of the flower mosaic beads. This is typical of most natural stones.

Thank you to Diamonds4Ever who have kindly sent me these lovely close up pictures of individual beads (Pink Pastel Agate, Green Pastel Agate, Blue Pastel Agate, Ocean Jasper paler version, Ocean Jasper darker version). They have however said that they all sold out almost immediately!

These will definitely be going on my wish list!

I will update this post if I become aware of any other UK retailers being offered stock of the beads or further stock being allocated to European retailers.
