Trollbeads Uniques – New Designs For 2015

Over the past week or so, new designs in Trollbeads Uniques range have been emerging.

For those who like the critter style beads, the new selection includes swans on various background core colours and new versions of the whale. Other new designs include musical notes, white patterns that look like snowflakes on various backgrounds, styles similar to the feather beads from the main collection, beads with a mother of pearl effect, and various designs with with glitter.

Marina from Perlen very kindly has sent me some images of the new styles of beads to use on my blog.

Perlen’s stock of the new Uniques can be found on their website here: http://perlenodense.com/products/235-unique-glass-and-amber/

Whilst I appreciate the Uniques range and do occasionally indulge, I have to say that I feel there is huge potential with exisiting beads from the main collection that show  plenty of variation. Azure Bubbles, Blue Desert, Aurora Stripe, The Eye and Wave of Dreams are just some designs of the top of my head that vary in the depth and intensity of their colours, providing the opportunity to obtain numerous different examples of the same bead.

Are there any of the new Uniques designs that catch your eye??

Trollbeads Christmas 2014 Uniques

It has been a while since the last new Trollbeads Uniques designs started appearing in stores, but recently some new Christmas themed designs have been emerging … and it has definitely been worth the wait.

Snowflakes, Holly, Mistletoe and Winter Skies are amongst the new designs. Being in blue, red, white and green they blend in beautifully with the glass kits from Trollbeads Christmas 2014 collection.

Marina from Perlen has been kind enough to send me these lovely pictures of the new beads.

Latest Trollbead Uniques Additions – October 2014

This blog post brings photos of some very pretty new additions to my collection of Trollbeads Uniques.

I have to admit that I do not really have that many Uniques. I find that there are some beautiful variations in a number of production beads (such as Azure Bubbles, Organic Bubbles, Aurora Stripe) and I am always on the look out for different versions.

I do keep a regular watch on the new Uniques being released though, and my collection includes some very pretty examples.

Here are the latest couple of beads that found their way way into my collection …

I love the pearlised / opalescent effects within these beads, I think they are both stunning. They were not listed as ‘Small & Beautiful’s’, however you can see from the photos below that these beads fall within that size range.

Here are a couple of photos of the beads alongside some of my other favourite ‘Small & Beautiful’ Uniques.

I never managed to get one of the ‘Cream Meteor’ beads, though I did find a beautiful example of the ‘Navy Meteor’, pictured on the far right in the photos above. I hope to find one at some future point to add to my collection though.

A very pretty selection I hope you will agree!

Trollbeads Small & Beautiful ‘Peacock’

Today brings a review of one of the most sought after beads from the Small & Beautiful Uniques collection – the Peacock.

After initially being released earlier in 2013, initial stocks of this bead were snapped up and it became increasingly harder to source.

The re-release of Small & Beautiful beads over the last month has seen some new designs, as well as some of the original designs, including the Peacock. There is still some availability at the moment but whether there will be any more of these in future uniques batches remains to be seen.

The pictures below show just why the bead is so coveted.

The rich blues and greens and the ‘eye’ pattern  of this bead depict beautifully a peacocks tail feather. The only thing that could make this bead any more stunning would be a metallic finish to the core patterning.

Below is a picture of the bead from the side to show how the pattern is concentrated around the core.

A beautiful complement to the Small & Beautiful Turquoise Tiger Stripe, this bead is also stunning alongside Amazonite, which really brings out the Peacock’s colours.

If you get the opportunity to add one of these beads to you collection, grab it with both hands! I missed out on getting this bead last year, so I am really pleased that I managed to snap one up to add to my collection this year. This is probably my favourite of the Small & Beautiful beads to date.

Trollbeads Small & Beautiful ‘Turquoise Tiger Stripes’

Following on from my last review of the Trollbeads Small & Beautiful ‘Navy Meteor’ bead, here is a review of another bead from the series, the ‘Turquoise Tiger Stripe’. This is the only name that I could find referenced to this bead, so if any reader know it by any other name, then please do let me know!

The base colour and patterning of this bead is similar to that of the Navy Meteors , with the addition of turquoise bands overlaying the core and base colour. The turquoise bands remind me a little of waves. With this in mind, if I were to name the bead I would call it ‘Cosmic Waves’ or ‘Galactic Waves’, as it doesn’t really conjure up images of a tiger to me.

The images above demonstrate well how the base colour shows through the stripes. You can see the cream / beige areas within the generally mottled navy blue base colour.

This bead is stunning, and there is nothing like it in the main collection. Another good catch from the new Trollbeads Uniques batches.

Trollbeads Small & Beautiful ‘Navy Meteor’

Today brings a review of a navy ‘Meteor’ that I have added to my collection, from the recent  batches of Trollbeads Uniques that have been released.

Although not an official name, this style of Unique bead have been named as ‘meteors’ by Trollbeads collectors. These beads form part of the ‘Small & Beautiful’ range of unique Trollbeads. These beads are smaller than most general production Trollbeads, hence their collective name.

The beads first started to be released in early 2013, and became increasingly harder to source towards the end of the year, particularly the more sought after designs such as the meteors, galaxies, cherry blossoms and peacocks.

Fortunately, 2014 has seen these beads making a reappearance in the latest batches of Unique Trollbeads that are being distributed.

The version that I am about to show is navy, though there is also a cream version.

This is a beautiful example of this bead, you can nicely see the larger molten silver inclusions.

The picture below shows the deep blue / black base colour, that perfectly resembles outer space.

The bead design reminds me of either a distant galaxy, or the view of a planets surface from outer space. Either way, it definitely has a ‘cosmic’ feel to it.

The next two pictures show the bead alongside a Trollbeads Small & Beautiful ‘Galaxy’ (left) and Trollbeads ‘Elegant Sparkle’ (right).

‘Elegant Sparkle’ was part of the Christmas 2013 limited edition ‘Elegant Christmas’ kit. This bead was extremely popular due to its resemblance to the ‘Meteor’ bead, which was extremely hard to come by at that time. Similarly, its red counterpart ‘Love Sparkle’ from the red ‘Christmas Love’ kit  also proved popular for the same reason.  My version of Elegant Sparkle is a nice small one , not that much bigger than the Small & Beautifuls, so it works well alongside them.

At the time these beads were first released last year, I didn’t follow the Uniques releases that closely, so sadly missed out on getting a cream version. Hopefully I will be able to come across one from the latest batches!

New Trollbeads Uniques

Retailers are starting to receive stock of the new batches of uniques, following the recent heart themed uniques that became available at the start of this year. Prior to this, the availability of new uniques was somewhat limited, and this was put down to Trollbeads creating new designs.

Within the new batches reappear some of the old favourite Small & Beautiful beads (namely cream galaxies, cherry blossoms, spirographs and ridges). Also, following the consensus that there would be no more critters being produced, it seems that this may not be entirely the case as a few new designs of critters have been spied, including an octopus!

Here in the UK, Trollbeads Heaven are the biggest retailer of unique Trollbeads. They are expecting their new batch to arrive at the end of this week. Their latest releases can be found here …   http://www.uniquebeadstore.co.uk/latest-releases

Trollbeads Uniques and Critters

You may well have heard a number of rumours regarding the future availability of Trollbeads Uniques (also known as ooak). Consensus has it that there is no intention to stop the production of these beads, however the way that they are released may change for next year. Similar to the series of Small and Beautiful beads ( such as the Galaxy, Meteor, Peacock, Cherry Blossom, Stepping Stones, Umbrellas ad Spirograph), it is thought that in future, designs will changes every few months.  I missed out on some of the Small and Beautiful beads, and so I am hoping for the new designs to be just as eye-catching!

Another rumour, which seems to have been accepted as fact, is that there will be no further production of the Critter beads. These beads are what I would call ‘marmite beads’, some people  love them but some hate them. I do have to say though that I think they are much nicer beads when seen in the flesh. So if you are wanting to add any Critters to your collection, now would be a prudent time to do so, especially as a number of retailers are having sales  on their existing Unique stock.

Here are some examples of the critters:

Are you a fan of the Critter beads? Are there any Small and Beautiful beads that you are still hunting for??
